The basis of modern manual medicine is the ancient trade of chiropractor, osteopathy and chiropractic. It deals with the physiology, diagnostics and therapy of the functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Manual medicine is used in the case of decreased mobility of the joints, if the movability of the joint narrows in one or more directions, the muscles belonging to the joint are stiff, the tissues and internal organs are painful and there is functional disorder.

As a result of the manual therapy, the “joint play” movement is restored and the movements of the joint improve completely or in proportion to the structural change. Furthermore, the elimination of pain and the normalization of nerve impulses can be achieved. Each of the musculoskeletal problems can be treated by the manoeuvre that is the most efficient for it. The preparation of the treatment plan and the frequency of the treatments are determined by the quality and course of the disease and it is always customized to the patient.

Manual therapy plays a very important role in the prevention of musculoskeletal diseases as well as in the elimination of pathologic conditions developed due to bad posture, scoliosis, occupational harms and trauma. Manual therapy has taken a well-deserved place recently in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases.
