A CTG (kardiotokográfia) vizsgálat segítségével lényeges információk nyerhetők a magzat méhen belüli állapotáról.

By means of the CTG (cardiotocography) test essential pieces of information can be gained on the foetus’ condition inside the womb.

The two examination heads of the instrument operating on the ultrasound principle sense the changes of the foetus’ pulse rate (heart rate), any possible womb activity and foetal movements and then display the result graphically on a paper tape.

In the last 4 or 5 weeks of pregnancy heart sound monitoring has to be carried out as a routine, usually once a week (or more frequently if justified).
The examination is not painful and it is a safe procedure both for the foetus and for the mother.
